Recipe Breakfast waffle with salmon

12 round waffles

Cooking time: approx. 15 minutes


Ingredients

For the waffle: 

  • 415 g self-rising flour
  • 12 g baking powder
  • 3 g salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 415 ml milk
  • 120 ml oil or melted coconut oil 
  • Salt and pepper

For the topping: 

  • 125 g creme fraîche
  • 250 g smoked salmon
  • 15 g chopped chives
  • 15 g chopped dill
  • freshly ground pepper

Method

 

  1. Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl. 
  2. Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Using a mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff. 
  3. Mix the egg yolks with the milk and oil. 
  4. Now add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and combine. Gently spoon in the egg whites.
  5. Fry the waffles in the Wafflelicious for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Spoon some crème fraîche onto a waffle, top it with a slice of smoked salmon and garnish with chopped chives and dill, ground pepper and a slice of lemon.
