Cinnamon rolls for Easter

Ingredients

  •  2 rolls puff pastry
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • Whipped cream
  • (optional: glaze)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry rolls and brush both with the melted butter except for the edges. 
  3. Combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle the mixture on the puff pastry. 
  4. Brush the edges of the dough with water. 
  5. Place the two sheets of puff pastry together and pinch together the edges. 
  6. Slice the dough into strips using a sharp knife. 
  7. Take the end of each strip of dough and fold it over itself twice to create an ‘Easter bunny’ with two ears and a round section at the bottom. Make sure that the cinnamon on the side of the strips is visible.
  8. Place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for 17-18 minutes in the preheated oven. 
  9. Allow to cool and top with glaze and a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
