Ingredients
- 125 g flour
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- ½ tbsp baking powder
- Pinch of cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 2 eggs (split)
- 125 ml milk
- 125 ml low-fat yogurt
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 apple
Preparation
- Mix together the brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and flour.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks with the milk, yogurt, melted butter and vanilla extract.
- Add the flour mixture while stirring and mix until a smooth batter is formed.
- Pour the lemon juice in a small bowl and grate the apples into it.
- Stir together and add to the batter.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites until stiff and carefully fold into the batter.
- Bake the waffles in a waffle iron for around 2 minutes.
